TheEconomic System

1.There are many forms of economic order, ranging from the mixed privateenterprise system to partially or completely controlled economies. Regardlessof their form, economic system is the system that a society uses for allocationand distribution of scarce resources. Private enterprise means that decisionsabout what and how much to produce are left to the discretion of owners andmanagers. In controlled economies such decisions are the responsibility of somegovernmental agency. There is no economy today that is completely free of governmentalinfluence. There are many beneficial services and protections available fromgovernment. It performs certain valuable functions in the life of organizationsof all types.

2.Among the functions of the economic order the most important one is to providesome resources. In a private enterprise this function is basically performed bythe price mechanism. Demand and supply of goods and services interact to settheir market price. In the case of regulated utilities, there are governmentalagencies such as public service commissions that determine the rates. Theserates are set at the level that will allow a fair return on investments made bythe companies. This form of regulated monopoly is considered preferable tounchecked competition. This is true because of efficiency reasons. In takingactions in the area of employment, government is attempting to control theeconomy to help the business community operate at the level of production.

Независимо отих формы, экономическая система является системой, которую обществоиспользует для выделения и распределения дефицитных ресурсов. Частное предприятие подразумевает, что решения отом, что и сколько произвести, оставлены усмотрению владельцев и менеджеров.В контролируемой экономике такие решения — ответственность некоторогоправительственного агентства. Сегодня нет экономики, которая абсолютно свободнаот правительственного влияния. Есть много полезных услуг и защиты, имеющихся вправительстве. Которые выполняют определенные ценныефункции в жизни организаций всех типов.
